Blazers killed the Kings softly; Kings lose 98-87

You know the song. I’m not going to waste a lot of time or effort on this recap. Box Score. 4 Factors:

Pace Eff eFG FT/FG OREB% TOr
Portland 85.0 115.3 52.7% 28.8 22.9 12.9
Sacramento 102.4 49.3% 15.8 26.8 16.5

There are games where Tyreke Evans will struggle. This is one of them. Blame the mouth piece. Blame other things. Nicholas Batum and the Blazers have figured him out. Some matchups just work better for Tyreke than others. This is one of those. Until Reke figures out how to counter the Blazers better, I would not be surprised if these games continue into next season. If this is disconcerting to you, think of it like this:

One quick note about those who think that Jason Thompson is now going to be more effective at C than PF. I’ve seen nothing that indicates that JT is better at C than PF other than the matchups at C may be more favorable for him than they are at PF. I’m going to hold judgment for a slew of games against Duncan, Kaman, Haywood and Scola before I bother to say that JT is a better C than PF. Sometimes this stuff may work; sometimes not.

As far as everyone else, it was nice to see Omri play well even if it was for one night. I hope his good play continues until the end of the season. End it on a high note and all that.

That’s all I got. Until next time then.
