Season is over: Kings lose to Lakers 106-100

Okay, I could have put the whole bit about Tyreke Evans being ejected in the title. The truth is, I don’t really give a shit. It’s not that important.

But if you wish to complain about such, by all means go ahead & do so. I won’t stop ya. The game was pointless, and it felt pretty pointless. On the other hand, PW played his guys the minutes he wanted to. So that was something.

The season ends with the Kings having a record of 25-57. Where they finish with lottery ping pong balls won’t be determined until tomorrow (not that I’m holding my breath) as it is. Currently, the Kings are tied for the 3rd worst record in the NBA with the Washington Wizards and Golden State Warriors. Any tie will be broken by a coin flip, and that will result in an extra ping pong ball for the team that wins the coin flip. It also means, that if the Kings finish 4th, the worst they could finish is 7th in order. (That is highly unlikely.) Since the inception of the NBA Draft, though, only twice (2004 & 1996) has teams in the top 4 won the top 3 picks. The worst slot the Kings can finish with is 5th, and this probably matters more for the 2nd round pick than it does anything else.

It was a fun season in many ways. Hope you stick around for the off-season and the draft. That should be exciting and give the team more opportunities on the court next season and beyond.

Until tomorrow then.

Here is the box score. The 4 Factors:

Pace Eff eFG FT/FG OREB% TOr
Sacramento 91.0 109.9 50.6% 10.0 37.5 13.2
LA Lakers 116.5 53.6% 20.5 35.0 17.6
