Kingsflix Tyreke Evans Team USA/Sac City Hall videos

Just some youtube vid’s from Kingsflix.

This is Mike Krzyzewski talking about Tyreke.

Jerry Colangelo:

Tyreke at Sacramento City Hall:

  1. That’s good news and it should be interesting how team USA performs this year or in 2010 but I have one question.

Does playing for USA really improve you as a player? or is this something everybody just likes saying? because I don’t really see how it could improve you as a player other than maybe mentally it can make you stronger that’s about it.How does it develope his actually game though?

    • The big belief about Team USA is that it’s competition, and many of the best players in the world compete in international competitions. So that’s the reason.

LeBron James & Dwyane Wade have said that watching Kobe Bryant prepare and work during the 2008 Olympics helped them a great deal. Will it have the same effect for Tyreke? Maybe, maybe not. Only time will tell.

  2. You have to find much more creative ways to score against guys like Dwayne Wade and Deron Williams everyday in practice than you do against Beno and Cisco. You also have to figure out a way to guard the superstars named above (not the Kings players) in practice. Thus, your offense and defense have to improve individually in order to be successful. But wait, that is just the beginning.

Tyreke will, maybe for the first time in his life, will have to defer to another teammate, a more experienced superstar teammate, and learn to be productive in an offense where you are not the focal point. Will this improve our shot happy 20 year-old point guard? I believe so.

Also, a lot of these veterans have had enormous NBA success and have players on teams that know how to defend as a team. They will not be afraid to let Tyreke know when he is doing something wrong…like watching a play when his man doesn’t have the ball.

Last, I think spending some time being coached by “Coach K” doesn’t hurt anyone. Just look at the success Christian Laettner and JJ Redick have had.

I think Tyreke will return with a better understanding of team basketball.
